Biography
The Frozen North, a wasteland of ice and snow, would rarely solicit such a glance from anyone of Opal. However, every so often a paragon of the society drifts from the frozen floes and finds its way into the world at large. Born during a thunderstorm to an unwitting family, Ragnar Roriksson was renamed by the local healer to "Stormborn" upon a quick checkup. A blood from a union far beyond either family's pedigree had traced had manifested in the veins of a babe swaddled in the local furs. As the boy aged, he learned to manifest his powers and summon the power of the Storm to his attacks. His powers were trained into that of one of the Frozen North's prized arcane-fueled berzerkers, the Northern Bloodragers. As he channeled his strange (and until recently unidentified) heritage, he earned the admiration of many who believed his powers stemmed from a lineage traced by the Thunder God. This went straight into his head, believing himself to be a demigod of some variety or another. This inspired him to take a life of adventure, and he declared he would seek great fortune and glory among the seas.
As he entered his ship and left, he found quarter with several various merchants. His adventures were not very noteworthy, with many either believing his ties to the Northern God of Thunder or not caring enough to call him on it. Few tested or knew enough to doubt him. However, he met a dwarven cleric who may very well have known enough to point this out to him. Granted, Matto soon discovered that a night of debauchery aboard a trading vessel may have not been the most tactful time to call him on it. Matto's claims that a Dragon and an Elemental may have mingled with his ancestor's loins. After a very violent brawl, Matto and Ragnar came to a standstill and were, on top of being sprawled about the decks of the ship, hungover. Discussing this further, Matto proposed the possibility that the God of Thunder was a mix of a dragon and elemental as well, or potentially something so old as to be both at once. Fascinated by this idea that a very martially gifted dwarven cleric may have either known of Thor, or perhaps have been able to shed light on Ragnar's true lineage.
If he ended up not being related to the God of Thunder, but instead some other form of otherworldly rage, perhaps it would be much more beneficial for him to truly and finally understand his lineage for a fact. For what glory could he find in manifesting the power of a dragon that also used the weapons of the Thunder God?
